Scottwas raised in Bountiful, Utah, where he roamed the Wasatch Mountains from an early age. His love of outdoor activities was a constant in his life as he went through college, pursued entrepreneurial activities, and had three children with his wife Kim.

Scott hiked, biked and fished throughout the West, but had a special connection to Star Valley, where he loved nothing more than fly fishing on Stump Creek. Scott cycled throughout the valley as well.

Just two months after he completed Casvar 2010, he died in a gun accident while working with Boy Scouts--another passion in his life.

Scott left behind three kids under the age of 14 (Monte, Sydney and Kari).
